About Us
Here is a brief blurb "About Us". As of now it's just me, Brandon Buttars. I have been designing web sites since about 1999 and have extensive experience with the various open source CMS, Blogging, and other miscellaneous systems that can be used to build sites. The purpose of this site is to share some of the knowledge and tips I have and to also index my education as I continue to learn more. As you may be able to tell, this site was built using the Drupal CMS. The best option by far that I have found.
My Day Job
During the day I am a full time web designer at Odin Development located in American Fork, Utah. It's a great job. Between movies, the Nintendo Wii, and Airsoft Target practice at work, we get a lot done. I own my own web design business and have been operating under SMOOTHDZION for the past 5 years or so.
I worked as an online business mentor for almost 3 years and learned the inside out of internet business. I feel I have a perspective on web sites and online businesses that you don't find in most web designers. I am definitely a designer first, an seo second, and a programmer third.
My Pet Peeves
As a designer I have become a Web Standards junky. I try and make all my code validate so that the search engines have an easier time indexing the sites I design. This often times can help to get as good of rankings as possible with the search engines. I try to validate all my code through Strict W3C XHTML standards. I make sure all my designs are cross browser compatible and cross platform compatible.
I am also a tableless designer. I am addicted to CSS and I design websites for fun when I'm not getting paid to do it.
Personal Info
I have been married since 2002 and my first son was born in 2005 and my second son is scheduled to be born in January 2008. I was raised redneck and am a self taught nerd. I live in Spanish Fork Utah and yes I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, (Mormon). No I don't plan on any more wives.
My family is my motivation. There is no greater feeling than feeling like the world needs you. This site is going to become my addiction. So let me roll up a joint of knowledge for you and hopefully your mind will be blown and you'll get the munchies and want more.
